Program Summary: This program presents an overview of the use of gadolinium-based contrast agents (GBCAs) in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Clinical information for contrast-enhanced MRI has changed rapidly in the past several years. This CE-accredited video presents current information on FDA-approved GBCAs, as well as updated safety warnings and guidelines. This hour-long program offers a broad understanding of how and why GBCAs are used for clinical MRI to best obtain clinically necessary information.
Learning Objectives Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to: Describe the clinical applications of gadolinium-based contrast agents in diagnostic imaging studies; Differentiate the differences between specific gadolinium-based contrast agents and how those differences affect their use; and Recognize how advances in MRI technology and protocols impact the use of gadolinium-based contrast agents for diagnostic imaging.
